Our bakery has been passed down from generation to generation, opening its' doors in 1968 in the picturesque village of Kritsa in Crete, Greece.  Initially the bakery was primarily producing bread products and home made Greek pies. Our traditional recipes are over 50 years old, which we still use today for our most loved crispbreads and rusks. 


As the years passed by and Vardas Bakery gained popularity, new recipes were brought to life for both sweet and savoury creations. A new bakery & cafe was built in the centre of Agios Nikolaos beach town, where one can find fresh bread, pastries, cakes and sweets all home made in our original premises. The bakery is now thriving and always creating new products available for retail and wholesale all over Greece. 


Together with our amazing team of skilled bakers we aim to bring you fresh products without preservatives, all handmade with ingredients sourced in Greece. 


It's what's on the inside that counts

We are proud to say that all our products are handmade in our Bakery in Crete, using quality local ingredients and no preservatives or harmful additives. A large number of our creations are suitable for vegans, vegetarians and those on a low sugar low fat diet. There are so many ways to consume our products as a snack or in main meals.
